MAC Strobe Cream Mini Review


Strobing is something I'd never even heard of until I started watching Rupauls Drag Race a few years ago (in the Sharon Needles Era: AKA the good ol' days!) Strobing has been described as overdone highlighting: However strobing to me is not only highlighting certain facial features but also adding dimension and texture to the area too. Admittedly, its not something I would bother doing every day. But on special occasions I like to highlight my favourite features (usually my cheekbones) 

I received the MAC Strobe Cream as a little try-out sample after buying too many lipsticks over on the MAC website. I was pretty chuffed as I've wanted to try out the Strobe Cream for ages now! 

MAC describe the Strobe Cream as 'a moisturiser that boosts the look of dull skin and luminises with iridescent particles'

So perfect for my tired skin that needs a bit of a boost! 

I love the little packaging, in fact I would say I'm a bit obsessed with miniature versions of my favourite beauty products! 

As you can see from the swatch below its quite white at first with a lavender twist. Once spread across the skin, the colour turns almost iridescent.  


SO HOW THE HELL DO YOU USE IT? 

You can use the MAC Strobe Cream by mixing it with your usual foundation: This is my favourite way to apply the product, as I love that it makes certain 'flat feeling' foundations come to life on the skin. It also makes the highlighting process easier and less hyped. 

Or you can use it on its own anywhere on the face you wish to add extra dimension and highlight to: I use it on the tops of my cheekbones only: it gives a very subtle highlight that shimmers when it catches the light. 

I've also heard that you can use it as a base for powder foundations, to add a light shimmer and make the foundation last longer too. I am yet to try this out, as I am not a fan of powder foundations. 

I also love that the Strobe Cream is available in varying shades to match most skin tones. 

For me, this is the perfect strobing product for very pale skin. I love the fact that it's multi-functional, subtle (I don't end up looking like C3PO) easy to apply and adds a beautiful soft shimmer.

Balance Me Rose Otto Face Oil Review

An oil for your face? Yes, Yes, Yes! If you would have told me years ago, when I was a hormonal teenager with many breakouts to use oil on my face I would have laughed at you, but the Balance Me Rose Otto Face Oil, has made such a difference to my skin, I am a complete oil convert.  I have quite red, sensitive, often sore skin and this calms it right down.
